Christina Afonso, RDH Christina is a Registered Dental Hygienist who graduated from New York University College of Dentistry in 2017 with a degree in Dental Hygiene. While attending NYU, she was an award recipient for her research in Forensic Dentistry, a part of Phi Theta Kappa honor society and representative of the inter-professional education group. She was also chosen to participate in a Global Outreach Program in Machias, Maine, where she was able to provide adult and children cleanings to a community who did not have access to dental care. Her interest in providing for the community continued with her attendance in “Give Kids a Smile Day” and children’s outreaches at elementary schools. Christina is not just a dental hygienist; she is a healthcare professional who values building lasting relationships with patients. Through a combination of expertise, empathy, and a passion for promoting oral health, Christina strives to make a positive impact on the well-being of those she serves. She is an active member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association and attends continuing education courses to gain more knowledge for the benefit of her patients. In her free time, she is an avid reader, enjoys the gym and yoga, and spending time with her cats and dogs.

Our whole family goes here and we have all had positive experiences. Dr. Cappone is amazing and Dr Z is wonderful with the kids!

I like going to the dentist about as much as most people, so I wasn't looking forward to going to get my teeth cleaned today. But the folks at West Caldwell Dental Group are different from other dentists in this area. EVERYONE I've encountered there has been wonderful. Kerry has gone out of her way to get insurance coverage information and to accommodate the scheduling of four children; the hygienists are so gentle, and the dentist was fantastic. She suggested a procedure for me and I didn't feel like I was being sold a used car. This is now the dental office for our entire family of six and I'm extremely happy with that.
